Pricey? Yes, but generally these strings should give to 3 to 4 times the wear, which means you get strings you have to purchase (and change!) less often. Though not specifically designed to offer a piercing punch, they do yield a rich resonance, a warm-bodied tone, and a comfort and playability second to none.
